I think this group is a great idea. I'm looking forward to checking in and looking at the advice and tips offered. Hopefully I can contribute something useful too.

Hi Brian - I am really very lucky. My four children and their families all live here in Henley so I have no problem with supplies. I have to spend as much time as poss with my leg raised so venturing forth in the wheelchair is a rare treat. The cleaner of one of my neighbours has a 4x4 and very kindly did a shopping run for all the residents here a couple of days ago. I did go and play scrabble in the Lounge last week (they let me win!) but paid for it with a swollen foot - so I won't be doing that in a hurry.

Cabin fever is my worst complaint and I am learning not to moan and count my blessings.....after all, I will be able to get out of my wheelchair in a month or so, not like some poor souls.

Thanks for your kind thoughts, Brian, I really appreciate them.
Hope the snow is not making life too difficult for you.
Best wishes
Marg

How are you getting on for your shopping, housework, travelling, even small distances must be difficult for you. Obviously its not practical to use public transport. The cost, accessibility, availability of even voluntary transport schemes, dial a ride, taxis can all be major concerns.
Have you good friends and neighbours?
I wish you a speedy recovery.

How many people on this site have experience of first aid?
Do you think it would be a good idea to hold first aid classes to keep us up to date (within the complexes we live in)
Comments please.

Cheers

John
