Hi Angela Some of them are my paintings. The trip to Cromer was done completely by bus and I stayed at Hanover Court in Cromer. As I don't have a car any more, I found the Coast Hopper bus service very useful. It runs between Cromer and Kings Lyn an…

Bobbie I had you in mind when I went into a nearby woodland on Saturday and I remembered that you had discovered so much rubbish that people leave behind. I admit I avoided the main walkway because I knew of a smaller wood that is part of the Whippe…

About Me:
I was born in Zimbabwe, married in England, returned to Zimbabwe in 1969 - 1981. Durban 1981-1999. Returned to UK 1999. Moved into Hanover Court 2000. My husband died in 2004. I took up painting in 2003 to give me an outlet from caring for my husband who was progressively more ill, and found something that I really loved doing. I have since joined an art group and paint regularly, exhibiting and going to workshops.

Tuesday's walk

Yesterday I went for my usual walk in the woods near here, and saw what I have posted on my photos - a big old tree, partially burnt, with a hole about 3/4s of the way up, and in the hole was a nesting bird! Good to see that old things are never quite useless!!!!!
I am preparing for another art exhibition at a local Church, in association with the village Open Gardens, so am very busy at the moment. It should be a good weekend, weather permitting!

Tuesday walk

I have just returned from my walk with the Wild Life Trust, and we had a wonderful walk. A young lad, his sister and father were with us and he turned out to be a wonderful spotter of birds and wildlife. We saw 19 different species which is more than I have ever seen in one morning, among them Jay, Nuthatch, Wren, Robin, Blue tits, Magpies, Gold Finches, Greater spotted woodpecker, Mistle Thrush and of course wood pidgeons and sparrows. There were two larger birds we failed to identify at the ti… Continue

Litter!!!!!

Hi All
I haven't been chatting for a while. I am now going to the Wildlife Trust every Tuesday for an accompanied walk. We walk round the woods at Lings, chatting about all the flora and fauna that we come across. It is good exercise and very informative, and I have met quite a few new people. We go back to the centre after the walk and have a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits. I have also joined them on litter picking events, on Saturday and again this morning. It is absolutely astonishing how… Continue

Vandalism!

I have just had my front window broken by four young lads! It sounded like a gunshot and gave me quite a fright. I managed to see them running away, but not enough of a sighting to give a good description. Why is it that the young need to damage things for a pastime? They recently broke a window on the bus, throwing stones at it. They don't seem to have any respect for anyone or anything.
