I asked for a shower to be installed over my bath when I first moved to Hanover 18 months ago. The initial reaction from a senior Manager was that I had accepted the accommodation without a shower so Tough! I argued the toss and finally they agreed…

This is a picture from our Theatre Show, that keeps me busy when Im not on my Estate. We tour all over the U.K and Ireland with the show, and though I cant always be with them, I still have to pay all the wages for my sins. You can take a look at the website at www.thedeadringerfromhell.co.uk
My husband Jerry plays the Meatloaf character, and he has on occasion been to Hanover Court Camborne to sing for the residents. One of there favourite songs is Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison. We are hoping to get him back to sing on the estate very soon.

Hanover Green Shoots Scheme

Down here in windswept Camborne Cornwall, we have just recieved news that our application for a Grant under the Green Shoots scheme has just been approved. We are all delighted and looking forward to getting on with our project.
We applied for a re-cycling store for the estate. At the moment we have internal bin stores that are very small, and were getting quite dangerous by the time the re-cycling team came to collect .
We submitted plans for a concrete base and an eight foot by ten foot… Continue

Estate Cover

I have just got back from covering my colleague at Sunley Orford House Truro, who is enjoying some well deserved leave. It was wonderful to catch up with the residents there again. I have been covering the estate since it opened, so have known many of them for quite a number of years.
I am always flattered when they remember my name, but I am unfortunatly not as good with theres. I recognise the faces, and they are wonderful and help me out, so that I dont feel bad.
Estate cover is one of the ma… Continue

Hi Elaine, I do not know if Leyla or Pauline have mentioned that here in Penzance we are holding our Xmas Fete on Saturday the 22nd November and I would like to invite any of your residents who feel they would like to come along to support us that they would be very welcome. Unfortunately I was unable to come along to Camborne the last time you had St Aubyn Singers but hopefully I will be in a position to attend one of your forthcoming events. Our Fete starts at approx. 11.00

Regards

Daphne

Hello Marj,
Lovely to get your post. Music is a wonderful thing isnt it. We have been amazed by the huge age varience that comes to our show. We recently organised a coach for the residents here at camborne to come and see the show at The Hall for Cornwall. Our oldest attendee was 89 and she loved the show. We are taking the show to Ireland this month for a four date short tour, which we are all looking forward to. I am sure you have lots of happy memories too from your involvement. I love meeting all the people at different places. I am not musical myself ( I sing like a cat) but it gives me a lot of joy. Thanks for sharing your memories with me.
