'Fund degrees' with business tax'

Having just read this story I can see some merit in it's arguement, but I would put one point in, and that is, only the industries that are going to benefit directly should be required to contribute to the costs.

Cheers

These meetings don't work, because they have a vote, and give everyone a ballot sheet to fill in. So the people who are not affected automatically vote for the present contractors, and so they get re-employed.

Hi John, I read your comment about my 'Thought for the day'.
We're having the garden remodelled in our complex. Thursday the groundworkers arrived at 10.30 and packed up at three, and they had been off site for lunch for over an hour. Wednesday was no better. They should have started LAST Wednesday, but didn't show up until Monday, but did nothing on the actual new garden design. So how is a company working a few hours a day, apparently with little supervision by Hanover, saving money? I don't like seeing all of these immigrants in the country, but if we'd had a firm of Polish Groundworkers doing the job, it would probably have been done by now, because they DO put in a full days work.
God bless, Graham.

John,
Had one of these special lenses fitted to right eye that can be adjusted to give various strengths of vision. Magic! The idea is to improve vision in right eye before attempting to repair a hole in the left eye. But.....remove specs, close left eye and perfect vision with right eye. Open both eyes and very bad double vision. Put on specs and double vision goes, but right spec lense too thick to see thru. He he he he.

Hi John
No it has'nt. Seeing that we have a lot of votes, you would think we may be a force to be reckoned with. Maybe it's a matter of coordination.. Al.

Hi John.
Yes if only. It's very strange, one day you'r at work, making decisions that make a real difference or in charge of perhaps thousands of pounds of equipment, next day your'r "retired".and regarded by some, as being a tad senile. What a difference a day makes.
Cheers. Alan.

Hi John. Yes it can be hard going at times. But the experience of uni is not to be forgotton eh. I know what you mean about comments on these networks, none more so than my own, I will admit. :)
Cheers, Al.

Hi John thanks for your comment will send some photos of scarborough and pollard gardens/cedar court activities. We were in hull before xmas and found it enjoyable both the shops and the museums etc for my grandaughter, will probably be over again soon when weather gets better as northern rail are doing the £5.00 bargain rail tickets again. The weather is terrible here but not as bad as some places.

cheers.

hello John, thank you for your welcoming comments. The snow here in Scarborough is deep and crisp and, dare I say it? even! Walking conditions are not very good on the estate or indeed around town as grit is scarce so I haven't been out since Monday.
Regards Sheila
