Estate Cover

I have just got back from covering my colleague at Sunley Orford House Truro, who is enjoying some well deserved leave. It was wonderful to catch up with the residents there again. I have been covering the estate since it opened, so have known many of them for quite a number of years.
I am always flattered when they remember my name, but I am unfortunatly not as good with theres. I recognise the faces, and they are wonderful and help me out, so that I dont feel bad.
Estate cover is one of the many good things that have been added to the service over the last few years. I know that for many it gives them that little reassurance that someone is around while there own Estate manager is away on leave or unwell.
Today I managed to meet with most of the residents and help out with a few problems, which gave them peace of mind. For some it is just nice to see a friendly face and a smile, and to know they are not alone.
On the other side, it is wonderful for us Estate Managers to go on leave and know that someone will be keeping an eye on things while we are not there.
I am back on my own estate now, and have checked all is well. We will be having afternoon tea shortly, so I must go and get the kettles on ready.
