Hanover Green Shoots Scheme

Down here in windswept Camborne Cornwall, we have just recieved news that our application for a Grant under the Green Shoots scheme has just been approved.We are all delighted and looking forward to getting on with our project.
We applied for a re-cycling store for the estate. At the moment we have internal bin stores that are very small, and were getting quite dangerous by the time the re-cycling team came to collect .
We submitted plans for a concrete base and an eight foot by ten foot metal shed, that would be placed in a central location, but out of the way. We consulted with the residents, who nearly all approved of us going ahead, with the proviso that a clematis would be planted to grow over and soften the appearance of said shed.
Once we had all the prices and took some pictures, we filled out our application. We were able to fulfill nearly all the criteria for the grant, so we were quietly confident when we posted it off.
It really was very easy to do, and well worth the effort. We are now waiting for our cheque for £744.00, and the Residents Association will contribute £200.00 towards the final project total of £944.00.
I would encourage everyone to have a think about using this new scheme to enhance or improve life on your estates.
We are going to have re-cycling champions, who will assist those that are unable to get to the store. We think this in itself will engender a more communal spirit between those living on the estate. I will take some pictures when its done and post them up. In the meantime if anyone wants any help and advice concerning an application I will be more than willing to assist.
