Hanover World

I have just returned from my walk with the Wild Life Trust, and we had a wonderful walk. A young lad, his sister and father were with us and he turned out to be a wonderful spotter of birds and wildlife. We saw 19 different species which is more than I have ever seen in one morning, among them Jay, Nuthatch, Wren, Robin, Blue tits, Magpies, Gold Finches, Greater spotted woodpecker, Mistle Thrush and of course wood pidgeons and sparrows. There were two larger birds we failed to identify at the time and I have spent a while on the RSPB website trying to spot them, without success. I think we were too far away to see them properly.
The walks are part of the initiative for health so maybe they will be running them in your area. It is a great way to exercise, meet new people, and get together with nature, and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Hi Hank
I don't know the exact distance, but we walk for approximately 1 - 1.5 hours, then go back for a cup of tea and biscuits.

Try your local wildlife trust. The one I go on is run by the wildlife trust and geered towards getting more of us out walking. I think it is government funded. So far I haven't taken my camera with me much, but intend to do so in the future, and will post any shots worth looking at.
